The Public Health Primary Care Systems Information Facilitator post will report to Health Improvement Advanced Practitioner – Health Care. This post provides a bridge between Public Health and primary care by equipping the latter with the knowledge and skills to perform the tasks, record and gain payment for delivery of clinical public health interventions. Data extraction, validation, analysis, interpretation and reporting will be required depending on the data involved. The post holder will also co-lead the organisation of training events for primary care staff on clinical and administrative issues.

Health Improvement Advanced Practitioner Health Care

We are looking to recruit a dynamic and self-motivated individual to lead, contribute to and advise on developments as well as supervise our NHS Health Check programme and projects and activities as directed by the Principal Public Health Specialist Healthcare. You will be expected to provide the operational leadership and act as an external contact on these projects and will work to ensure appropriate input from a wide variety of experts in public health, to deliver projects. Shared Care Coordinator

We are looking for an experienced, highly motivated substance misuse professional to facilitate the further development and coordination of the Substance Misuse Shared Care Scheme in Barking and Dagenham.

Tenant Participation Officer

We are looking for a tenant participation officer to work within Housing Services at the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham.

Your primary role will be to ensure the delivery of effective customer consultation and liaison on the capital programme. You will need to be customer focused and passionate about customer service and improving customer satisfaction. You will be surveying residents and monitoring the effectiveness of the Council’s capital delivery programme reporting trends and making suggestions for improvements.

You will also be required to develop a range of opportunities to encourage residents to actively take part and have the opportunity to influence the management of their homes, including supporting tenant and resident groups.

The successful candidates will have excellent communication skills and be confident speaking at local resident meetings, management and project meetings as well as in the office environment. Most importantly you will bring commitment, enthusiasm and a sound understanding of the significance and benefits of tenant involvement.

The ability to quickly build strong working relationships with the different client groups will be paramount and political sensitivity is a given.

The nature of this post requires extensive evening and weekend work.

NPLQ is essential and pool plant operators course must be obtained within first 6months of employment. Must have sound knowledge of Health and Safety practices and current legislation

Must be literate and numerate, comfortable with writing reports, letters and completion of forms

Must have sound knowledge of people management skills and able to lead a team.

Willingness to work varied and unusual hours, often at short notice, including weekends, evenings and bank holidays to ensure sufficient management cover for the centre.

Assume the role of Centre Manager in the absence of the Centre Manager and undertake additional responsibilities to support the manager and business needs

Youth Support Worker - Health (Fixed-Term until End March 2015)

We require two JNC qualified Youth Workers to fill these exciting new roles within Integrated Youth Services. Swimming Teacher/Coach

We are on the lookout for enthusiastic teachers and coaches to join our Aquatics Team at our two leisure centres, including the 10-lane Becontree Heath Leisure Centre which is home to one of the UK’s largest aquatics programmes with over 4,600 participants every week.

The Council operates all programmed aquatics activities within its leisure centres including foundation phase, junior learn to swim, school swimming and adult learn to swim through to the competitive outlet for swimming, lifesaving and water polo as the training provider for the Barking and Dagenham Aquatics Club.

We have positions available for casual Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3 teachers/coaches to join the team. When contracted hours become available all staff in the casual pool will be able to apply for them on a competitive basis.

We will be opening a new leisure centre in Barking in 2014 which is expected to have a programme of a similar size to Becontree Heath, so there's never been a better time to join us!

The centres run a wide-ranging aquatics programme, so we are especially looking for teachers/instructors with the qualifications and experience to run classes such as Aqua Natal, Adult and Child, Mini Polo/Water Polo, Aquafun/Synchronised Swimming, Flip n Fun diving, RLSS Rookie Lifeguard/Lifesaving Awards and Underwater Hockey.

Due to the size of our programme we we have teaching and coaching hours to suit everyone - from early mornings, daytimes, early evenings, late evenings whether weekdays or weekends.
