About the job

This is an exciting opportunity to take a leading role in the delivery of high quality legal advice and advocacy services for London's second largest council. The role will primarily concern advising in-house solicitors, council officers and stakeholders, providing internal legal training, settling pleadings and undertaking advocacy across the full spectrum of local authority housing work, with a particular focus upon homelessness appeals, disrepair, anti social behaviour, commercial leases and judicial review proceedings.

The successful candidate will join a highly regarded legal service with Lexcel accreditation and a proven commitment to on-going professional development.

About the person

The successful candidate will be a barrister or solicitor with higher rights of audience. They will be an expert in housing and homelessness law, with significant advocacy experience and a proven track record of representing clients in the County Court. Experience of trial and appellate advocacy is essential.
