CHILDREN'S SOCIAL CARE – SOCIAL WORKERS

Lambeth is a fantastic place to work. If you’re looking for a challenging but exceptionally rewarding opportunity – Lambeth is definitely for YOU!

We are looking for the following Social workers in our Family Support and Child Protection and Referral and Assessment services;

Social Worker: (PO1) £32,802 - £35,070 pa incl. LW

Social Worker: (PO3) £36,912 - £39,855 pa incl. LW

**We are not currently looking for Newly Qualified Social Workers (ASYE) **

We’re looking for social workers to inspire us at every level. You’ll be integrated into small social work teams with extra personal support from an experienced practitioner, bespoke learning and development, and excellent post-qualification opportunities. As a qualified social worker, you’ll be empowered to improve the lives of children, young people and their families within small teams, a manageable caseload and strong learning resources. And we’ll support you to move into a more senior role if you want. As a senior social worker, you’ll help to motivate our team, leading by example and sharing your expertise. At all levels, we’ll welcome your ideas on how we can make our transformation a lasting success.

At Lambeth we are putting the focus back on relationship-based social work. We don’t want our social workers spending their time on bureaucratic tasks. We don’t want to be intervening in children’s and families’ lives unnecessarily. And we don’t want you to feel alone taking decisions when you know families best. We are looking for social workers from all walks of life who are passionate about high quality practice and spending their time on relationship-based practice that keeps families together wherever possible.  Find out more about our innovative approach in the attached Practice Framework Brochure.

Working in Lambeth will probably be the toughest but most rewarding jobs in your career and as one of our social workers you will be well supported by a comprehensive training programme, and through high quality monthly supervision. You will be able to draw on the expertise of advanced practitioners, our most expert social workers, who can co-work your cases and help you think through what sorts of interventions might work best. You will have a manageable caseload of around 15 cases.

In Lambeth there is no time limit as to how quickly you can then progress to becoming a senior social worker and we hold twice yearly progression panels to promote social workers into senior social work positions. In Lambeth we believe it is the depth of your experience and skill that matters, not how long you have been practicing.

The closing date for receiving completed applications forms is Sunday 21st January at midnight.
